The third WorldSSP300 round concluded at the Misano World Circuit in hot and sunny conditions today.
This was a home round for the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSSP300 Team and riders Elia Bartolini andd Emiliano Ercolani, at one of their favourite tracks.
In Friday’s Superpole, Bartolini set the seventh fastest time, while Ercolani qualified seventeenth. Unfortunately, Saturday’s Race 1 brought scant results for the pair. Elia was forced to retire due to technical problems, while Emiliano suffered an innocuous crash.
This morning the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSSP300 Team was back out for Race 2, battling it out from start to finish. Bartolini confirmed the potential he had shown in Superpole, securing an excellent eighth-place finish. Ercolani also made great progress, climbing from twenty-seventh to eleventh across the line.
“Elia and Emiliano have made significant progress and this weekend’s races demonstrate that. The potential is high, we just need to continue in this direction.”
“Eleventh is not the result I was hoping for at our home round when the weekend began, but seeing how things went, I’ll take this result as a starting point, on which I’ll try to build in the next races.”
“At the end of the day a positive race, despite a few difficulties. Eighth isn’t a bad result in such a difficult, competitive category. I’ll continue to work with the team to improve ahead of the next round at Most”.
