More than a name, a guarantee! Roberta Ponziani, the first ever Italian female champion, will compete in the first edition of the FIM Women’s Motorcycling World Championship.
Ponziani began her career racing minibikes, where she battled against the boys to bring home her first national title. Roberta comes to the world championship with a wealth of experience, having spent three seasons in the Women’s Cup and reaching the third step of the rostrum in the 2023 Women’s European Championship.
She will benefit from the professionalism and expertise of the MotoXracing team, with which she previously raced for three years. Together with Sandro Carusi’s squad, Ponziani will represent Italy, just one of many nations to feature on the entry list of this first page of FIM Women’s Motorcycling World Championship history. A wonderful opportunity for Roberta, who will be the only Italian to compete in this prestigious championship, alongside riders of the calibre of Ana Carrasco and Beatriz Neila Santos.
The FIM Women’s Motorcycling World Championship will play out over six rounds and run alongside the production derived WorldSBK series, ensuring global television coverage and significant visibility for the riders themselves. Roberta will take to the track with the Yamaha YZF-R7 for Superpole on Friday, Race 1 on Saturday, and Race 2 on Sunday. With Yamaha as the single manufacturer, the playing field between the current Italian champion and her rivals will be totally level in terms of machinery.

- Round 1 14 – 16 June 2024 – Emilia-Romagna Round
- Round 2 12 – 14 July 2024 – UK Round
- Round 3 09 – 11 August 2024 – Portuguese Round
- Round 4 23 – 25 August 2024– Hungarian Round
- Round 5 20 – 22 September 2024– Italian Round
- Round 6 18 – 20 October 2024– Spanish Round
