Nato a Rimini il 15/1/1991, Roberto ha iniziato con le 125 per poi passare alla Stock 600 del CIV nel 2009. L’anno successivo
si è laureato Campione Italiano Supersport ed ha debuttato nel mondiale della stessa categoria. Dopo quattro anni in 600, nel 2015 è passato alla Stock 1000 Europea proprio con il Team Motoxracing. Una grande stagione conclusa al secondo posto con 3 vittorie e 6 podi. Tamburini è rimasto nella Stock 1000 sino al 2018, per poi tornare nel Campionato Italiano Velocità. Roberto collabora da molto tempo con la squadra di Sandro Carusi e quest’anno debutteranno entrambi nel WorldSBK. Inizialmente i programmi stabiliti erano diversi, ma sono stati rivisti e definiti in tempo per poter disputare quattro giornate di test. Dopo aver provato al Misano World Circuit nelle giornate del 21 e 22 marzo, Tamburini ed il suo staff tecnico hanno svolto alcune sessioni di prove ieri ed oggi sulla pista di Assen in Olanda. In Romagna Roberto ha avuto un primo contatto con squadra e moto, mentre già in Olanda ha potuto lavorare all’assetto della sua R1, iniziando ad adattarsi allo stile di guida necessario per sfruttare al massimo la sua Yamaha.
Il prossimo appuntamento del Team Motoxracing con la pista è fissato per i test ufficiali Dorna che si svolgeranno sulla pista del Motorland Aragon il 4 e 5 aprile e a seguire per il primo round del WorldSBK che andrà in scena sulla stessa pista spagnola.

Team Motoxracing to line up in WorldSBK with Roberto Tamburini
Team Motoxracing is pleased to announce that it will compete in the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship with rider Roberto Tamburini.
Born in Rimini, Italy on 15/1/1991, Roberto began by riding 125 bikes before moving to the CIV Stock 600 category in 2009. The following year saw him crowned Italian Supersport champion, after which he debuted on the world stage in the same category. After four years in the 600 class, he moved up to the European Stock 1000 in 2015, with Team Motoxracing. A strong season saw him close second, thanks to three race wins and six podiums. Tamburini remained in the Stock 1000 category until 2018, before returning to the Italian CIV. Roberto has long collaborated with Sandro Carusi’s team and both will now debut in WorldSBK. Initial plans were different, but they have now been revised to allow for four days of testing. Having ridden at the Misano World Circuit on 21-22 March, Tamburini and his technical staff were on track at Assen in The Netherlands both yesterday and today. Having enjoyed initial contact with the team and bike in Italy, the sessions in Holland have allowed Roberto to work on the set-up of his R1, as the rider begins to adapt his riding style so as to be able to get the best out of his Yamaha.
Team Motoxracing will return to the track for the official Dorna tests that will take place at Motorland Aragon on 4-5 April, followed by the opening WorldSBK round that will play out at the same Spanish track.
