Enthusiastic ahead of home round Misano!

The fifth WorldSBK round has a particular flavour for the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team, in that it will take place at the Italian squad’s home track, the Misano World Circuit.

At the previous Barcelona round, Sandro Carusi’s team scored its first championship points of the season with young rider Bradley Ray, with the work put in during winter testing and the opening rounds of the 2023 WorldSBK championship clearly starting to pay off, thanks to the expertise of the team’s technical staff and the abilities of the English rider, who is increasingly at ease aboard the YZF-R1 of the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team.
The aim at Misano will be to continue to grow so as to regularly reach the points zone, with the support of the sponsors and supporters on site at the Misano World Circuit.
The Misano circuit was designed in 1969 and operational as of 1972, the track measuring 3488 metres at that time. In 1993 the track was extended to 4060 metres and a garage building was added. In 2001 the first batch of grandstands were completed, offering 5000 seats. 2005 saw the launch of a significant restructuring plan and in late 2006 the circuit benefitted from a new track, 4180 metres in length and running in the opposite direction. In early 2008 the track was extended to its current 4226 metres while the facility was able to accommodate 75,000 visitors, 26,000 of which in the grandstands. The track was fully resurfaced in 2015.

“I’m excited to get back on track and to do so at Misano, a circuit I really a like and where there’s a really unique atmosphere. I’m sure this will allow us to achieve some really strong results.”
