After competing at the Misano World Circuit roughly a month ago, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team his back in action in England this weekend, at the Donington Park circuit, the home track for rider Bradley Ray, in the sixth round of the World Superbike Championship.
The young British talent has been showing continuous progress until now, scoring points at Barcelona and just missing out on the points zone at the Misano races. Results that confirm that the rider and team are working in the right direction and with the right commitment. Racing in front of his home crowd, Bradley Ray is keen to do well and stand out as one of the best young talents in the production-derived championship.
The Donington Park circuit was built in 1931, initially only for motorcycle racing. After the second world war, activity resumed in 1977. Important extension work took place in 1985, including the addition of a section behind the paddock (Melbourne Loop) which increased the track length from 3149 metres to the current 4020 metres, with seven right-hand turns and five left-handers and with racing in a clockwise direction. The track is situated inside a natural amphitheatre that makes it an ideal viewing platform for the fans. The track puts the riders’ skills to the test, with undulating sections and fast turns that require hard braking and acceleration. The track was also fully resurfaced recently.

"I think this round is very important to Bradley, as it’s his home round. I hope he can use this to his advantage, along with his track knowledge, to score some good results.”
“I’m super excited to get back racing with the Motoxracing Team, especially as it is my home race at Donington. I’m hoping for a strong weekend, as we showed some very good pace and worked in a good direction at Misano, so I’m hoping that in going back to a track I know so well, we can work in a good direction and score some good points! We are working well and I’m gaining confidence and speed every time I ride, so I think we can do a good job for both myself and the team.”
