Tamburini to replace Ray at Most

Roberto Tamburini will replace Bradley Ray during the eighth WorldSBK round in which the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team will compete at the Most circuit in the Czech Republic.

As we know, the young Englishman will undergo surgery on his right shoulder in a few days’ time in order to resolve a few issues that have been limiting his performance of late. Sandro Carusi has therefore gone with the most obvious solution, which is to have Roberto Tamburini step in, seeing as the Italian competed aboard the Italian team’s Yamaha at all of last year’s European WorldSBK rounds and scored one of his best results of the season at the same Czech track, finishing eleventh in race 2.
Roberto knows the Italian team but will be riding a bike that is more competitive than that of last season. He will need to adapt to the R1 during the practice sessions, while his aim in the races will be to reach the points zone.
The Most circuit is located near the town of the same name in the north-east of the Czech Republic, roughly 80 km from capital city Prague. It was constructed to replace the dangerous road racing circuits, which were used up until the early 80s. Construction began in 1982 and the track was inaugurated the following year. It later underwent various modifications and was resurfaced in 2008. A five-year agreement with Dorna was signed during the winter of 2020. The track measures 4212 metres and incorporates 21 turns, twelve right-handers and nine left.

"We’ve decided to replace Bradley Ray with Roberto Tamburini because we’ve long had a good relationship with him and scored some strong results together last season. He feels at home as part of our team and it’s always a pleasure to work with him.”

Roberto Tamburini #20

“I’m really pleased to be back with the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team and to be able to work with Sandro Carusi and his team, as I spent a great 2022 season with them. I’m sure that the bike is updated and improved compared to what I used last year, and I’m interested to get out on track to know it better. We’ll need to make the most of practice in order to do well in the races. It won’t be easy as the level in WorldSBK is increasingly high, but I’ll give it my all. I like the Most track and I scored one of my best results at this track last year. I want to thank Sandro Carusi, Andrea Dosoli and the entire Yamaha team for offering me this opportunity and putting their faith in me.”
