The eighth round of the Superbike World Championship has drawn to a close at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic with the day’s Superpole Race and second Superbike race.
Called upon to stand in for Bradley Ray who has recently undergone surgery to his right shoulder, Roberto Tamburini qualified twenty-first in Superpole yesterday, before finishing race 1 in nineteenth position.
This morning the Italian was back out for the Superpole Race, a sprint that runs over a distance of just ten laps. Tamburini made a good start and made up one position right away. The rider made no mistakes, a consistent pace allowing the Yamaha MotoxRacing WorldSBK Team representative to cross the line eighteenth.
Race ran in the afternoon on a dry track despite cloudy skies. This time Roberto did not make the fastest start but got into a rhythm that allowed him to gradually climb up through the field, to sixteenth position, just outside the points zone.
The next WorldSBK round will take place on 8-10 September at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in France.
