Official tests at Phillip Island

The last two days of official tests for the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team at the Phillip Island track in Australia.

On Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 February, Sandro Carusi's team will carry out two days of tests on the Australian track that will host the first round of the 2025 Superbike World Championship on the following weekend of 21, 22 and 23.
Tito Rabat and Bahattin Sofuoglu will therefore have two intense days of testing to work together with their technical staff and adapt their Yamaha YZF-R1s to the Phillip Island track.

Due to the particular conformation of the track and its very abrasive asphalt, it has been decided that in the two races on Saturday and Sunday a tire change will be carried out at about halfway through the race and consequently in the tests on 17 and 18 February the team will also be able to prepare for the tire change, a very important factor in the two long races.

These two days of testing will conclude the testing program that began in January, first in Jerez and then in Portimao, and which allowed both the experienced Spanish rider and the young and rookie Turkish rider to adapt their riding style to their bikes and to adapt to the work system of the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team.

"In the previous winter tests in Jerez and Portimao the weather made the work of our team and our riders difficult and we are therefore confident in these two days of Australian testing to conclude the process of adapting Tito and Bahattin to our bikes and our team and to become familiar with the difficult and technical track of Phillip Island as well as with the tire change, mandatory in the two long races. Both the technicians and the riders are motivated and determined to give their all to start this 2025 season in the best possible way".
