Seconda giornata di prove e di gare sul circuito Nevers Magny Cours in Francia per il Team Motoxracing e per il suo pilota Roberto Tamburini, nel settimo round del WorldSBK.
La giornata di ieri era stata caratterizzata dalla pioggia, che aveva reso difficile il lavoro della squadra e del pilota, che aveva concluso le prime due sessioni di prove libere al diciottesimo posto (1’48”658). Nel terzo ed ultimo turno di libere di questa mattina, svoltosi su pista asciutta, Roberto è stato autore del crono di 1’38”200 salendo al quindicesimo posto nella cumulativa delle tre sessioni.
In tarda mattinata il pilota Motoxracing è tornato in pista per disputare la Superpole, ed il suo best lap di 1’37”930 lo ha collocato in diciottesima posizione. Un risultato che ha fatto si che Tamburini sia scattato dalla sesta fila nella prima gara del weekend, che si è disputata nel pomeriggio sulla distanza di 21 giri.
La sua partenza è stata buona e gli ha permesso di recuperare subito alcune posizioni. Grazie ad ritmo molto veloce Tamburini risaliva la classifica sino al quattordicesimo posto, ma all’incirca da metà gara doveva ridurre la sua andatura a causa di un calo della gomma posteriore, e terminava in diciannovesima posizione.
Nella giornata di domani Tamburini sarà impegnato nella Superpole Race ed in Gara2.

"Peccato per la gara di oggi. Dopo un buon inizio speravo di raccogliere qualcosa in più, invece siamo retrocessi ed abbiamo terminato fuori dalla zona punti. Speriamo di capire il motivo di quanto è successo in modo da recuperare nella gara di domani".

“Per circa metà gara le cose sono andate bene, ma in seguito ho avuto un repentino calo della gomma posteriore ed ho fatto fatica a portare a termine la gara. Per domani faremo tesoro dell’esperienza di oggi e valuteremo i dati per poter essere maggiormente competitivi, migliorando la velocità ed il mio feeling con la moto. Ringrazio la mia squadra e per domani spero di ottenere un risultato migliore”.

A tyre issue slows Tamburini in WorldSBK Race 1 at Magny Cours
The Nevers Magny Cours circuit in France is staging the seventh WorldSBK round, in which Team Motoxracing is competing with Roberto Tamburini.
Yesterday was characterized by rain, which made the work difficult for both team and rider, as they finished the first two practice sessions in eighteenth position (1’48”658). In this morning’s third and final practice, which ran in dry conditions, Roberto was able to set a 1’38”200, with which he moved up to fifteenth in the combined results.
In the late morning, the Motoxracing rider was back on track for the Superpole, his best time of 1’37”930 placing him eighteenth. A result that saw Tamburini line up on the sixth row of the grid for the weekend’s first race, which ran in the afternoon over a distance of 21 laps.
He made a good start and his allowed him to quickly make up a few places. Demonstrating impressive pace, Tamburini climbed up through the field to fourteenth place, but he then found he had to slow up mid-race after suffering a drop in rear tyre performance. He eventually crossed the line in nineteenth position.
Tomorrow Tamburini will return to the track for the Superpole Race and Race 2.

"It was a pity about today’s race. After making a good start, I hoped we could do more, but instead we fell back and finished outside the points zone. We’ll try to understand what happened so that we can make up for it in tomorrow’s race.”

“Things went well for more or less the first half of the race, but then there was a real drop in the rear tyre and I struggled to finish the race. For tomorrow, we’ll learn from today’s experience and analyse the data to try and be more competitive, improving our speed and my feeling with the bike. I want to thank the team and hope to score a better result tomorrow.”
