Dopo oltre un mese di pausa estiva il team Motoxracing ed il suo pilota Roberto Tamburini sono tornati in pista oggi a Magny-Cours in Francia, per disputare il settimo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike.
Il clima incerto e la pioggia caduta a tratti hanno caratterizzato la prima sessione di prove libere. Su di un tracciato non completamente asciutto giustamente Tamburini non ha voluto rischiare una caduta ed ha percorso solo pochi giri, con un miglior tempo di 1’48”658.
Nel pomeriggio la pioggia non ha dato tregua ai piloti WorldSBK. Tamburini ha lavorato assieme alla sua squadra per trovare un buon assetto ed il giusto feeling con la sua moto in queste difficili condizioni. Con il tempo di 1’55”404 il pilota del Motoxracing ha concluso al ventiduesimo posto della seconda sessione ed al diciottesimo della classifica cumulativa dei due turni odierni.
Domani mattina Roberto svolgerà il terzo ed ultimo turno di prove libere, mentre in seguito disputerà la Superpole e Gara1 WorldSBK.
Sandro Carusi: “Sappiamo che Tamburini non ama molto il bagnato e questo spiega i risultati odierni. Per le qualifiche e la gara di domani speriamo quindi in una pista asciutta”.
Roberto Tamburini: “Una giornata di pioggia. Per me è stata la prima volta con una Superbike in assetto full rain. Questa mattina ho fatto un po fatica, ma nella sessione del pomeriggio le cose sono andate meglio, ed ho trovato un buon feeling con la mia moto. Per domani bisognerà vedere in quali condizioni sarà la pista, ma comunque sia ci sapremo adattare e ci impegneremo al massimo. Grazie al team che mi ha aiutato molto”.

Rain hinders Tamburini’s work at Magny Cours
After more than a month’s summer break, the Motoxracing team and its rider Roberto Tamburini were back on track today at Magny-Cours in France, ready for round seven of the Superbike World Championship.
Unstable weather and intermittent rain characterized the morning’s first practice. On a track that was not completely dry, Tamburini understandable did not want to risk a crash and only completed a few laps, with a best time of 1’48”658.
The rain continued into the afternoon, refusing to give the WorldSBK riders a break. Tamburini worked together with his team to find a good set-up and the right feeling with his bike in these difficult conditions. With a time of 1’55”404, the Motoxracing rider finished the second session in twenty-second place and placed eighteenth in the day’s combined standings.
Roberto will take part in the third and final practice tomorrow morning before returning to the track for Superpole and WorldSBK race 1.
Sandro Carusi: “We know that Tamburini doesn’t really like the wet and this explains today’s results. As for qualifying and tomorrow’s race, we’re hoping for a dry track.”
Roberto Tamburini: “A wet day. This was the first time I rode a Superbike with a full rain set-up. This morning I struggled a little, but things went better this afternoon and I found good feeling with my bike. For tomorrow, we need to see what state the track’s in but one way or the other, we’ll adapt and give it our all. Thanks to my team for all their help.”
