Si è concluso oggi al Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona in Spagna l’ottavo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike.

Quella di ieri era stata una giornata positiva per il Motoxracing e per il suo pilota Roberto Tamburini, che dopo aver concluso la Superpole al diciottesimo posto, in Gara1 ha tagliato il traguardo in tredicesima posizione conquistando altri tre punti per la classifica iridata.
Questa mattina, in una giornata soleggiata, il pilota italiano ha disputato la Superpole Race, scattando come ieri dalla sesta fila della griglia di partenza. La sua partenza è stata sufficientemente veloce da consentirgli di recuperare subito una posizione. Nel proseguo della gara Roberto ha continuato a risalire la classifica, sino al quindicesimo posto finale.
Gara2 ha invece preso il via nel pomeriggio sulla distanza di 20 giri ed è stata densa di soddisfazioni per il Motoxracing. Tamburini, diciottesimo al primo giro, ha sfruttato tutto il potenziale della sua Yamaha ed ha mantenuto un ritmo veloce e costante che gli ha permesso di tagliare il traguardo al decimo posto, conquistando così il suo miglior risultato in gara, a coronamento di una stagione sempre in crescita sia per lui che per la sua squadra.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il Campionato Mondiale Superbike è fissato per il 7, 8 e 9 ottobre all’Autodromo do Algarve di Portimao, in Portogallo. Per il team Motoxracing si tratterà dell’ultimo appuntamento con il WorldSBK 2022, ma Sandro Carusi è già al lavoro per organizzare al meglio la prossima stagione.

Roberto Tamburini: “Sono molto felice della mia gara odierna e del risultato che abbiamo ottenuto. Nella Superpole Race ho chiuso quindicesimo, mentre in gara2 dopo una buona partenza ho cercato di spingere forte, senza però consumare troppo gli pneumatici. Dopo aver superato due dei piloti che mi precedevano, ho potuto tenere il mio ritmo sino alla fine, rimontando molte posizioni sino ad entrare in top ten, che era il nostro massimo obiettivo, visto che siamo un team privato, al debutto nel WorldSBK. Ringrazio tutta la squadra e cercheremo di ripeterci nelle prossime gare di Portimao”.

Tamburini finishes top ten in WorldSBK race 2 at Barcelona

The eighth Superbike World Championship round concluded today at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona in Spain. Yesterday proved positive for the Motoxracing team and rider Roberto Tamburini who, having qualified eighteenth in Superpole, crossed the line thirteenth in race 1, scoring three more championship points as a result.
This morning, in sunny conditions, the Italian rider took part in the Superpole Race, getting away from the sixth row of the grid like yesterday. His start was quick enough to make up one position right away and then, as the race went on, Roberto continued to climb up through the field, as far as fifteenth.
Race 2 ran in the early afternoon over a distance of 20 laps and turned out to be a very positive one for the Motoxracing team. Eighteenth on lap one, Tamburini exploited the full potential of his Yamaha and maintained a strong pace that saw him cross the line tenth, his best race result of the season so far. This top ten is testament to the constant progress that both rider and team have made so far this year.
The next Superbike World Championship round is scheduled to run on 7-9 October at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal. This will be the final WorldSBK round of the year for the Motoxracing team, but Sandro Carusi is already working on plans for next season.

Sandro Carusi – Team Principal: “We conclude a weekend that has been more than satisfactory for us. The top ten we scored today repays all the effort we’ve put in all year. I want to thank our “Tambu” and the whole team for the continuous growth they’ve shown up until now".

Roberto Tamburini: “I’m very pleased with today and the result we’ve scored. I finished fifteenth in the Superpole race, and then in race 2, I tried to push hard after making a good start, but without overdoing the tyres. After passing two riders, I was able to maintain my pace until the line, making up many positions and finishing inside the top ten, which was our ultimate goal, considering we’re a private team in our rookie WorldSBK season. I want to thank the whole team and we’ll try to do it again in the next races at Portimao”.
