Ultimo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike 2022 per il Team Motoxracing all’Autodromo do Algarve di Portimão, in Portogallo.
Nella stagione del suo debutto nel WorldSBK la squadra di Sandro Carusi non disputerà le ultime tre trasferte extra europee e sia per il pilota Roberto Tamburini che per tutto lo staff tecnico del team l’obiettivo è quello di chiudere al meglio un campionato senza dubbio molto impegnativo, ma che ha riservato ottimi risultati per il Motoxracing.
La top ten conquistata da Tamburini nel precedente round di Barcellona ha confermato i costanti progressi di tutta la squadra, che arriva in Portogallo desiderosa di far bene.
L’Autodromo Internacional do Algarve è situato nel sud del Portogallo, in prossimità della città di Portimão. E’ stato omologato ed inaugurato nel 2008, proprio in occasione delle gare del Mondiale Superbike. L’impianto si estende su una superficie totale di circa 300 ettari, sulle colline intorno alla cittadina portoghese e comprende un kartodromo, un parco tecnologico, un albergo a cinque stelle, un complesso sportivo e diversi appartamenti. La pista è famosa per i suoi saliscendi e per le sue curve ad ampio raggio. Misura 4.592 metri ed è composta da 15 curve, delle quali 9 a destra e 6 a sinistra.
Sandro Carusi – Team Principal: "Con le gare di Portimão si conclude la nostra prima esperienza nel WorldSBK. Spero di ottenere anche qui un buon risultato a dimostrazione della crescita che abbiamo dimostrato in questa che è stata per noi una prima stagione sicuramente positiva"
Roberto Tamburini: “Affrontiamo questo ultimo impegno del 2022 con molto entusiasmo, anche ripensando all’ultima gara di Barcellona, nella quale ho conquistato la top ten. Spero che a Portimão il meteo sia favorevole specialmente nella giornata di venerdì, quando dovremo adattare la nostra moto alla pista portoghese. Sono quattro anni che non corro su questo tracciato che mi piace molto. Il nostro obiettivo è sempre quello di centrare la zona punti nelle gare e di essere comunque competitivi, anche perché ci tengo molto a chiudere in bellezza questa stagione”.

Last WorldSBK round of 2022 for Motoxracing at Portimão in Portugal
Team Motoxracing prepares for its final Superbike World Championship round of the 2022 season at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal. In what is its debut WorldSBK season, Sandro Carusi’s team will not compete in the last three non-European rounds and so the goal, for both rider Roberto Tamburini and the technical staff, is to round out this challenging championship in the best possible way, also considering the strong results Motoxracing has achieved to date.
Tamburini’s top ten finish at the latest Barcelona round confirms the continuous progress made by the team, which is also keen to do well on Portuguese soil.
The Autodromo Internacional do Algarve is located in southern Portugal, close to the town of Portimão. It was homologated and inaugurated in 2008, with World Superbike its very first event. The circuit covers a total of roughly 300 hectares and is positioned in the hills surrounding the Portuguese town and incorporates a karting track, a technological park, a five-star hotel, a sports complex and various apartments. The track is famous for its undulating layout and wide turns. It measures 4592 metres and comprises fifteen turns, nine right-handers and six left-handers.
Sandro Carusi – Team Principal: "Our first experience in WorldSBK comes to an end with the Portimão races. I hope we can achieve a good result here too, and further demonstrate our growth in what has undoubtedly been a very positive first season for us.”
Roberto Tamburini: “We head into this final round of 2022 with a lot of enthusiasm, also considering the last race at Barcelona, where I finished top ten. I hope the weather is kind to us at Portimão, especially on Friday when we’ll be working to adapt our bike to the track. I haven’t raced there for four years, but I really like the track. Our goal is to reach the points zone in each race and be competitive, also because I would really like to round out the year on a high.”
