Con la terza giornata del nono round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike, concluso oggi all’Autodromo do Algarve a Portimão in Portogallo, termina la stagione agonistica 2022 del Team Motoxracing.
Ieri Roberto Tamburini aveva disputato la Superpole e Gara1. Nella sessione di qualifica il pilota italiano aveva ottenuto la quattordicesima posizione, ed era quindi scattato dalla quinta fila nella prima gara di questo weekend, che lo ha visto tagliare il traguardo al sedicesimo posto, ad un passo dalla zona punti.
Questa mattina il pilota del Motoxracing è stato impegnato nella Superpole Race sulla distanza di dieci giri. Purtroppo, all’incirca a metà gara, Roberto è stato costretto al ritiro a causa di un problema tecnico sulla sua R1.
La terza ed ultima gara di questo round portoghese ha preso il via nel pomeriggio, e si è disputata sulla distanza di 21 giri. Dopo una buona partenza Tamburini ha recuperato alcune posizioni, sino a raggiungere il quattordicesimo posto e mantenerlo sino alla bandiera a scacchi.
Si conclude quindi con un’altra gara in zona punti il primo campionato mondiale Superbike del Motoxracing. Un ottimo risultato che però per Sandro Carusi ed il suo team non rappresenta certo un punto di arrivo, bensì di partenza.

Roberto Tamburini: “Un’altra buona gara, conclusa in zona punti, con il mio minor distacco dai primi di questa stagione. All’inizio ho battagliato con alcuni piloti, mentre in seguito ho cercato di tenere il mio ritmo e di centrare la zona punti. Ringrazio la squadra non solo per questa gara, ma per tutta la stagione trascorsa insieme, nella quale ci siamo migliorati gara dopo gara ed abbiamo raggiunto molti dei risultati che ci eravamo prefissati ad inizio stagione”.

Tamburini in the points zone again in WorldSBK race 2 at Portimão
As the ninth Superbike World Championship round draws to a close at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portugal today, so to does the 2022 racing season for Team Motoxracing.
Yesterday saw Roberto Tamburini compete in Superpole and Race 1. In the qualifying session, the Italian finished fourteenth, which meant a fifth row start in the weekend’s first race. The Italian crossed the line sixteenth in that first race, just missing out on the points zone.
This morning, the Motoxracing rider was back out for the Superpole Race, which runs over a distance of ten laps. Unfortunately, towards the middle of the race, Roberto was forced to retire due to a technical problem with his R1.
The third and final race of this Portuguese round ran this afternoon over a distance of 20 laps. After making a good start, Tamburini made up a few places to move into fourteenth place, a position he held to the line. Another points finish then, in what has been the Motoxracing team’s first world championship season. An excellent result that is not so much an end point for Sandro Carusi and his team, but a starting point.

Roberto Tamburini: “Another good race, which we finish in the points zone and closer to the frontrunners than we’ve ever been this season. At first, I battled with a few riders and then I just tried to maintain my pace and reach the points zone. I want to thank the team, not just for this race but for the entire season spent together. We’ve improved race by race and have achieved many of the goals that we set ourselves prior to the start of the season.”
