The two days of testing that the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team completed at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain on 30-31 March concludes its preparation ahead of what will be its debut WorldSBK round at the Assen circuit in The Netherlands.
Having previously tested for two days at Motorland Aragon, Bradley Ray used the Catalunya sessions to try out different setup solutions in order to define the best setting for his R1. His best lap was a 1’43”006, but beyond the lap times, the positives relate to the Brit’s ability to adapt fast to his R1 and that fact that the tests completed at Portimao, Aragon and Barcelona have allowed the squad to define a setting that the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team can use during the first round at the ‘Cathedral of Speed’ on 21-23 April.

“On day one here at Barcelona we focused on testing various solutions in order to identify the ideal setting. A crash during the morning of day two conditioned our technicians’ work, but we were able to continue with the work schedule already in the afternoon. The gap to the frontrunners undoubtedly has to do with the tyres used by other teams, and so this is another reason why we are confident going into the Assen round.”

“Two important and positive days. Unfortunately, a crash slowed our work this morning but in the afternoon we continued in the right direction. We tested many things on our bike and I’m sure we are now on the right path as we prepare for our first WorldSBK round. We’ve worked hard over the winter and all that’s left to do now is head to Assen and score some good results. I can’t wait to run my first race with the Motoxracing Team!”
