Ray reaches the points zone while Delbianco just misses it in Race 2 at Cremona

With today’s two races, the ninth WorldSBK round at the Cremona Circuit draws to a conclusion.

The Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team has fielded two riders this weekend, with wildcard Alessandro Delbianco joining permanent entry Bradley Ray.
The pair was on track on Saturday for Superpole and Race 1. In the first, the English rider qualified ninth and the Italian twenty-second. In the race, Ray again put in a strong performance, crossing the line eleventh, while Delbianco made an impressive recovery to climb as far as the points zone, finishing P15.

This morning, Sandro Carusi’s riders lined up for the ten-lap Superpole Race. Bradley made a very fast start but struggled to maintain a good pace and completed the race in fifteenth place, while Alessandro crossed the line in twentieth position.

In Race 2, which ran in the afternoon, Ray got away well and was lying in and around the top ten until lap seventeen, when a drop in tyre performance forced him to slow his pace and finish fourteenth. Delbianco ran a positive race, progressing from twentieth in the early stages to sixteenth across the line, just outside the points zone.
The next WorldSBK round will play out on 27-29 September at Motorland Aragon in Spain.

Sandro Carusi - Team Principal

"Our first weekend with two riders has concluded positively. In race 2, Alessandro just missed out on points, and if it hadn’t been for the tyre drop in the latter stages, Bradley would have scored an even better result. The team has worked really hard, and our bikes were reliable and competitive, which bodes well for the next races.”

Bradley Ray #28

“I’m generally pleased with how the weekend has gone, my best of the season so far actually. We were able to fight as part of the chasing group, be consistent, and complete strong races. We were just lacking a little power along the straight, but we can be happy with the work done by the entire team. I can’t wait to get to Aragon next weekend and continue in this direction.”

Alessandro DelBianco #52

“I am satisfied with what we have done this weekend. To be able to fight for the positions that count, more time is needed, but for me this has been a great experience for which I thank Yamaha Italia and the Motoxracing team”.
