The fifth WorldWCR round has now concluded at the Estoril Circuit, where team MotoXracing was once again able to demonstrate its potential.
On her first visit to the Portuguese track, rider Roberta Ponziani consistently ran inside the top ten this weekend.
On Friday morning, Roberta was on track for free practice, using the session to understand the track and find the right feeling. In the Superpole, which played out in the afternoon, she was able to set a best of 01’53”997, the sixth fastest time, to secure a precious spot on the second row of the grid.
After a ten-minute warm-up on Saturday morning, #96 took to the grid for Race 1. Having made a good start, she began to battle for the top ten as part of the chasing group before ultimately crossing the line seventh.
Race 2 got underway at 12.45pm on Sunday, after another brief warm-up. Roberta again started strong and pushed hard to conclude in fifth position.
Sandro Carusi’s team will now prepare for the WorldWCR grand finale, taking place on 18-20 October at the Jerez Circuit in Spain.
“We’re working really well with Roberta. Once again this weekend, we’ve shown to be among the frontrunners in this championship. Now it’s heads down as we concentrate on concluding the season in the best possible way!”
“A positive weekend considering the weather, and the fact the track was new to me. I’m pleased with my fastest lap in Race 1 and the results achieved in both races. Now we’ll focus on the season finale.”
