Two completed races round out a difficult Assen weekend

The third WorldSBK round has now drawn to a close for the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team and rider Bradley Ray at the Assen track in The Netherlands.

The British rider qualified twentieth in yesterday’s Superpole and reached the points zone in Race 1, crossing the line fifteenth. Ray was back out this morning, on a dry track and in sunny conditions, for the Superpole race, in which he placed twentieth.

In the afternoon Bradley lined up for Race 2, which ran on a dry track but under threatening grey clouds. Getting away well from twentieth, the Brit maintained a consistent pace and was able to avoid mistakes even after it began to rain, crossing the line in seventeenth position.
The next WorldSBK round will take place on 14-16 June at the Misano World Circuit in Italy.

“This complicated weekend has drawn to a close with Race 2. Despite the best efforts of the entire team, we haven’t been able to achieve the desired results here at Assen, but we’ll continue to work as hard as we can to turn this around.”

“Definitely not an easy weekend, not for me or the team. The results don’t reflect our efforts or the work we’re doing right now. We have six weeks in which to find some solutions to our problems and arrive in Misano stronger and more competitive.”
