WorldSBK arrives in Italy, at the Misano World Circuit to be precise, as the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team prepares for a home round, the first of two Italian events to feature on the 2024 calendar.
After a break of almost two months, this fourth round will play out on the Romagnolo track on 14-16 June. For Sandro Carusi’s team and rider Bradley Ray, the aim is to continue to improve the competitiveness of their Yamaha YZF R1.
In the three rounds held to date, the English rider has scored two points, but the hope is that he can consistently reach the points zone at a track the team knows very well.
The Misano circuit was designed in 1969 before undergoing significant restructuring in the 90s, which made for an increasingly efficient facility. In 1993 the track was extended, and a new garage building was built. In late 2006, the circuit was closed to allow for the construction of a new track. Just five months later, the new 4180-metre track was ready, having undergone a change of direction (now clockwise). The grandstands increased capacity by more than 23,000 seats.
The track now measures 4226 metres and incorporates sixteen turns, of which ten are right-handers and six left. Pole position is to the right.

"It’s always great to race at Misano, also because we can meet with our sponsors, which only heightens our motivation. After a break of almost two months, we’re all keen to be back fighting against our rivals and working to make our bike increasingly competitive. It will be important to quickly find a good setup so that we can earn a good grid position and aim for a solid result in the races. We’ll do our best not to disappoint the fans.”
“We’re heading back on track at last! I can’t wait to get back on my bike and work with the team. After such a long break, I hope I can soon regain the automatisms and be quick right from Friday’s practice. I really like the Misano track and the atmosphere in the paddock, so I hope I can fully express my potential and that of the team!”
