With the Donington Park races having just concluded, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team trucks make their way to Most in the Czech Republic where the sixth WorldSBK round and fourth WorldSSP300 round are taking place this weekend.
Bradley Ray and his technical staff found a good setup for their YZF-R1 in the UK and will start with that at Most, working to adapt it to the Czech track. The English rider will have his work cut out, as he will also have to get to grips with a brand new track.
It’s also a new track for Sandro Carusi’s Supersport 300 riders, Elia Bartolini and Emiliano Ercolani. At the last Misano round, after a Race 1 to forget, the two young Italian were able to showcase their talent, Bartolini placing P8 and Ercolani P11. Their initial goal, like Ray, will be to learn the new track.
The Autodrom Most first featured on the WorldSBK calendar in 2021. It is situated in the north of the Czech Republic, which makes it easy for fans from neighbouring Germany and Poland to reach. The track was totally resurfaced in 1983 and became the first permanent motorsport facility in what was then Czechslovakia. The track measures 4.212 kilometres and includes 21 turns, twelve of which right-handers and nine left.
"We’ll need to make the most of every session at Most because Bradley Ray and the SSP300 boys do not know the track. We expect a challenging weekend, but we’re focused and ready to do well in both classes.”
“I can’t wait to race at Most, a track I’ve never seen before, so I’ll need to learn it as quickly as possible. I’m pleased that we immediately have another round, because we can work on our bike with continuity. The Donington weekend was positive in the end, and I hope we can do the best possible job in the Czech Republic too.”
