The Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic has been the stage for the weekend’s sixth WorldSBK race. Yesterday Bradley Ray was on track for Superpole, in which he qualified twenty-first, and Race 1, in which he finished nineteenth.
This morning the English rider and the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team lined up for the Superpole Race, a ten-lap sprint. Getting away fast from nineteenth, Ray maintained good pace that allowed him to climb to eventual sixteenth position.
Race 2 got underway in the afternoon. Thanks to a good start, Bradley immediately closed in on the points zone. A consistently fast pace saw him make up more positions and cross the line fifteenth, scoring one championship point.
The next WorldSBK round will take place on 9-11 August at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portimao, in Portugal.
“A positive day. In the sprint race, we were able to run very close to the points zone, while in Race 2 we scored a precious point that serves to boost morale as we move forward with the championship."
“I’m pleased with today’s races. We made significant progress with the bike and were able to be consistent in terms of lap times. If I’d had a better qualifying, I’d have been able to stick with the top ten, which is positive. We’ll continue to work like this at Portimao so that we keep closing the gap to those ahead.”
