Back on track at Magny Cours for SBK and SSP300

After a few weeks’ break, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team gets back to work at the Circuit de Nevers Magny Cours in France, where the eighth WorldSBK round and sixth WorldSSP300 round are taking place this weekend.

In recent races, Sandro Carusi’s riders in both categories have continued to make progress. In Superbike, Bradley Ray has been able to put in a consistent performance thanks to an increasingly competitive bike.
In Supersport 300, Elia Bartolini just missed out on the podium at Portimao in both races, while his team-mate Emiliano Ercolani was a little less lucky but nevertheless demonstrated his potential.

Last year, the French track brought little satisfaction for Ray, who had not raced there before, while this year he is aiming for the points zone. Both Bartolini and Ercolani can target the podium, despite the competitiveness of their category.

The Circuit Nevers Magny Cours is situated in the Nièvre department of Burgundy, France. It was built in 1960 but only began to rise to international fame in the 80s. The track has undergone few modifications over the years, all with the aim of creating more opportunities to pass. Some of the corners take the name of other circuits (Estoril, Adelaide, Imola, Nurburgring), in that they reproduce turns at those particular tracks. The overall length of the track is 4411 metres, with the layout incorporating nine right-hand turns and eight left-handers.

"In recent races, we’ve seen positive signs in both Superbike and Supersport 300 and I hope we can continue in this way in France, as we set out to achieve strong results. It’s also an important round with a view to 2025, in that we’re still deciding what to do.”

“I can’t wait to race at Magny Cours! We’ve taken some real steps forward over the last two rounds and are getting increasingly close to achieving our goals. I like the track and am looking forward to working on the bike with my team in order to score the best possible results.”
