two-points-for-ercolani-in-race-1-at-most-bartolini-just-outside-the-points-zone

Two points for Ercolani in Race 1 at Most. Bartolini just outside the points zone.

Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic is hosting the fourth WorldSSP300 round in which the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSSP300 Team is competing with riders Emiliano Ercolani and Elia Bartolini.

Yesterday the two young Italian took part in a free practice session in which they began to learn the Czech track, one they have not competed at before. They then headed back out for Superpole which established the starting grid for today’s race. With a time of 1’47”860, Ercolani closed nineteenth, while Bartolini’s best lap was a 1’48”020 that positioned him twenty-second.

With these results, Emiliano lined up on row seven and Elia on row eight for the race that ran in warm and sunny conditions this morning.
Both riders made a good start and began to make up positions, fighting in the chasing group. Ercolani crossed the line fourteenth, scoring two championship points as a result, and Bartolini finished sixteenth, just missing out on points.

Tomorrow will see the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSSP300 riders back out for Race 2.

“It was a difficult race for our two young riders who were forced to play catch up after starting further back on the grid due to a mediocre qualifying. It’s not easy to make up ground in this category, but Ercolani was nevertheless able to score two points while Bartolini finished just outside the points. Both have gained further experience and will do better in tomorrow’s race 2.”

“It was a complicated race, especially early on. I lost contact with the leading group but was then able to gain ground and battle for eighth place. Unfortunately in the chaotic final stages I ended up having to settle for fourteenth but I’m pleased because this is my first time at the track and I’ve shown good potential, that I hope to harness in tomorrow’s race.”

“A complicated race due to a lack of feeling with the bike at a track I’d never seen until yesterday. I was lying thirteenth through the last turn but risked crashing and lost places, eventually finishing sixteenth. We’re already working to prepare for tomorrow’s race.”
