Si disputerà questo fine settimana all’Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello l’ultimo round della Women’s European Cup, che prevede la disputa della settima e dell’ottava gara del campionato, che chiuderanno questa edizione 2022.

In questa occasione il team Motoxracing schiera ben quattro pilote ad iniziare ovviamente da Roberta Ponziani, che ha conquistato due podi ed occupa la terza posizione nella classifica generale con 93 punti. Assieme a lei, nel box della squadra di Sandro Carusi ci saranno anche le italiane Martina Guarino e Matilde Contri e la slovena Mia Obreza.
Per la Contri, che ha corso nel Trofeo Dunlop 300 e per la Obreza, che proviene invece dal Trofeo Aprilia, si tratterà della prima esperienza nel Campionato Europeo dedicato alle donne, mentre la Guarino ha già partecipato alla WEC nel 2020 e nel 2021, proprio con il Team Motoxracing, terminando rispettivamente al quarto ed al nono posto della classifica generale.
Le due gare che si disputeranno al Mugello saranno decisive per l’assegnazione del titolo e si preannunciano combattute e spettacolari, come nella migliore tradizione della Women’s European Cup.

Ecco le dichiarazioni delle quattro pilote e del Team Principal Sandro Carusi

Roberta Ponziani: “Per le due gare del Mugello i miei obiettivi sono innanzitutto quello di lottare per il podio e poi di conseguenza quello di mantenere il terzo posto in campionato, cercando di fare più punti possibili. Purtroppo sono molti mesi che non corro al Mugello e spero di riprendere subito confidenza con questa pista. Penso che in gara si formeranno dei gruppi e sarà molto importante il gioco delle scie. Sono pronta e motivata e voglio chiudere al meglio questo campionato”.

Martina Guarino: “Il mio campionato sarebbe dovuto essere già finito prima del tempo. Ho avuto però l'occasione grazie al team Motoxracing di partecipare alle ultime due gare del Mugello e sono veramente contenta di tornare con la famiglia che mi ha davvero cresciuta, e con la quale ho vissuto anni felici. Per quanto riguarda le gare, spero di poter ricambiare la fiducia della squadra con i migliori risultati possibili. Abbiamo poco tempo a disposizione ma sicuramente la fiducia reciproca all'interno della squadra farà la differenza. Un ringraziamento speciale a quello che considero il mio “angelo custode” Sandro Carusi”.

Matilde Contri: “Le due gare del Mugello rappresentano la mia prima partecipazione a competizioni di questo livello. Per me è un sogno che si avvera! Voglio godermi il weekend al massimo, cercando di migliorarmi in ogni turno. Il mio prossimo sogno è quello di partecipare il prossimo anno a tutto il campionato e chissà che non si avveri anche questo! Grazie al Team Motoxracing per avermi offerta questa fantastica possibilità”.

Mia Obreza: “Voglio innanzitutto ringraziare il team Motoxracing e Sandro Carusi per questa grande possibilità che mi viene offerta non solo di debuttare nella Women’s European Cup, ma anche di farlo con un team prestigioso e su di una pista fantastica come quella del Mugello. Non vedo l’ora di correre sulla pista toscana. Il mio sogno sarebbe quello di poter correre il prossimo anno tutto il campionato”.

Sandro Carusi – Team Principal: “Ci presentiamo all'ultima doppia gara della Women’s European Cup con tre nuove pilote. Oltre a Martina Guarino che, è una nostra vecchia conoscenza, siamo contenti di far esordi la Slovena Mia Obreza proveniente dal trofeo Aprilia, e Matilde Contri che ha già ben figurato nel trofeo Dunlop 300".

Motoxracing to stage a four-pronged attack at the final WEC round at Mugello

The last round of the Women’s European Cup will be held this weekend at the Mugello International Circuit, which includes the seventh and eighth rounds of the championship, which will close this 2022 edition.
On this occasion, the Motoxracing team lined up four riders, obviously starting with Roberta Ponziani, who reaches two podiums and occupies the third position in the general standing with 93 points. Together with her, in the box of Sandro Carusi's team there will also be the Italians Martina Guarino and Matilde Contri and the Slovenian Mia Obreza.
For Matilde Contri, which raced in the Dunlop 300 Trophy and for Mia Obreza, which comes from the Aprilia Trophy, it will be the first experience in the Women’s European Championship, while Martina Guarino has already participated in the WEC in 2020 and 2021, precisely with the Motoxracing Team, finishing respectively in fourth and ninth place in the final standing.
The two races that will be held at Mugello will be decisive for the award of the title and will promise to be fought and spectacular, as in the best tradition of the Women’s European Cup.

Roberta Ponziani: “For the two Mugello races, my objectives are first of all to fight for the podium and then consequently to maintain third place in the championship, trying to score as many points as possible. Unfortunately, I haven't been racing at Mugello for many months and I hope to get back to this track immediately. I think groups will form in the race and the play of the trails will be very important. I am ready and motivated and I want to finish this championship in the best possible way ”.

Martina Guarino: “My championship should have already finished before the time. However, thanks to the Motoxracing team, I had the opportunity to participate in the last two races at Mugello and I am really happy to be back with the “family” that really raised me, and with whom I have lived happy years. As for the races, I hope to be able to return the team's confidence with the best possible results. We have little time available but mutual trust within the team will certainly make the difference. A special thanks to what I consider my "guardian angel" Sandro Carusi ".

Matilde Contri: “The two races at Mugello represent my first participation in a competitions of this level. For me it’s a dream come true! I want to enjoy the weekend to the fullest, trying to improve myself in every practices and races. My next dream is to participate in the whole championship next year and who knows if this too will come true! Thanks to the Motoxracing Team for offering me this fantastic opportunity ”.

Mia Obreza: "First of all, I want to thank the Motoxracing team and Sandro Carusi for this great opportunity that is offered to me not only to make my debut in the Women’s European Cup, but also to do it with a prestigious team and on a fantastic track like that of Mugello. I can't wait to racing on the Tuscan track. My dream would be to be able to run the whole championship next year ”.
