Seconda giornata di Superpole e gara oggi al Motorland Aragon in Spagna per il Motoxracing e per il suo pilota Roberto Tamburini.
Quella di ieri è stata una grande giornata per la squadra di Sandro Carusi e per il pilota italiano, non solo perché ha visto il debutto di entrambi nel WorldSBK, ma soprattutto perché Tamburini ha concluso al nono posto assoluto la classifica delle prime due sessioni di prove libere con il tempo di 1’50”501.

Questa mattina Roberto è tornato sulla pista aragonese per il terzo ed ultimo turno di libere. Il freddo ed il vento non hanno permesso al pilota del Motoxracing di migliorare il suo best lap di ieri e con il tempo di 1’51”453 ha terminato al decimo posto delle prove libere.
Poche ore dopo si è disputata la prima Superpole della stagione, la prima in carriera per Tamburini che è stato ancora una volta sorprendete migliorando il suo best lap delle prove, e con il tempo di 1’49”729 ha concluso quindicesimo. Di conseguenza ha preso il via dalla quinta fila in gara1 che si è disputata alle 14 ora locale sulla distanza di 18 giri.
La partenza di Roberto è stata buona, ma nelle prime curve il pilota Motoxracing ha perso alcune posizioni. Nel proseguo della gara, nonostante un calo di gomme, Tamburini manteneva un buon ritmo e tagliava il traguardo in diciassettesima posizione, a due secondi dalla zona punti.
Domani mattina Tamburini ed il Motoxracing saranno impegnati nella Superpole race mentre nel pomeriggio disputeranno gara2.

“Un risultato discreto, considerando che è stata la mia prima gara nel mondiale Superbike. In partenza sono scattato bene, ma poi nelle prime curve ho perso alcune posizioni. In seguito ho cercato di tenere il mio passo senza commettere errori, anche se il grip delle gomme è calato molto. Per domani abbiamo dei dati da consultare che ci aiuteranno ad incrementare il mio ritmo di gara. L’obiettivo è quello di imparare il più possibile e ridurre il distacco dai piloti che ci precedono. Motoxracing - Superpole and WorldSBK race 1 at Motorland Aragon

The Motoxracing team and rider Roberto Tamburini have completed the Superpole and first race making up the opening WorldSBK round at Motorland Aragon in Spain.
Yesterday was a very good day for Sandro Carusi’s team and the Italian rider, not only because both parties made their WorldSBK debut, but especially because Tamburini rounded out the first practice sessions in ninth place with a time of 1’50”501.
Roberto was back out on the Spanish track this morning for the third and final practice. Cold, windy conditions prevented the Motoxracing rider from improving on his best time set yesterday and he finished the practice in tenth position with a 1’51”453.
A few hours later, it was time for the first Superpole of the season, a career first for Tamburini who once again put in a surprising performance, improving on his best lap and setting a 1’49”729 to finish fifteenth. This meant a fifth row start for the Italian in the opening 18-lap race that got underway at 2pm CET.
Roberto made a good start but through the Motoxracing rider lost a few positions through the first turns. As the race went on, and despite a drop in tyre performance, Tamburini maintained a good pace and crossed the line in seventeenth position, two seconds from the points zone.
Tomorrow morning Tamburini and the Motoxracing team will compete in both the Superpole race and the afternoon’s second Superbike race.

“A decent result, considering this was my first ever WorldSBK race. I started well but then lost ground through the first corners. I then tried to get into a rhythm without making any mistakes, although the tyre grip really dropped off. We have data to use for tomorrow, so that should help us to increase our race pace. The aim is to learn as much as possible and reduce the gap to those immediately in front. Thanks to my team for all their hard work.”
