Il Team Motoxracing ed il suo pilota Roberto Tamburini hanno disputato oggi al TT Assen Circuit in Olanda la Superpole Race e Gara2, valide per il secondo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike.

Nella giornata di ieri in Superpole Tamburini aveva ottenuto soltanto il ventiduesimo posto a causa di un banale inconveniente tecnico. Scattato dall’ottava fila, il pilota italiano era stato autore di una grande rimonta, che gli aveva permesso di chiudere la gara al quattordicesimo posto, centrando quindi la zona punti.
Questa mattina, in una giornata soleggiata e fresca, Roberto ha disputato la Superpole Race e così come ieri anche oggi ha preso il via dall’ottava fila della griglia. La partenza è stata ritardata a causa di un problema riscontrato da un pilota sulla griglia. Nuovo giro di ricognizione e gara ridotta a nove dei dieci giri previsti. Dopo una buona partenza il pilota Motoxracing ha iniziato una rimonta che gli ha permesso di risalire sino al sedicesimo posto finale. In così pochi giri era difficile fare di meglio.
Gara2 ha preso il via nel pomeriggio sulla distanza di 21 giri. La partenza di Tamburini è stata buona, e dopo alcuni giri in diciassettesima posizione, il pilota Motoxracing iniziava a risalire la classifica. Tredicesimo a metà gara circa, Roberto manteneva un ritmo molto veloce che gli permetteva di concludere all’undicesimo posto, conquistando così il suo miglior risultato in questo inizio di campionato e cinque punti per la sua classifica.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il Campionato Mondiale Superbike è fissato dal 20 al 22 maggio sul circuito dell’Estoril in Portogallo.

Tamburini just misses the top ten in WorldSBK race 2 at Assen

The Motoxracing Team and rider Roberto Tamburini have completed the Superpole Race and second Superbike race making up this second Superbike World Championship round at the TT Assen Circuit in The Netherlands.
Yesterday in Superpole, Tamburini was only able to score twenty-second place due to a minor technical setback. Getting away from the eighth row of the grid, the Italian rider made a strong recovery, finishing the race inside the points zone, in fourteenth place.
This morning, in cool but sunny conditions, Roberto contested the Superpole Race, once again lining up on row eight. The start was delayed after another rider had a problem on the grid. A second sighting lap was required, meaning that the race was reduced from ten to nine laps. Having made a good start, the Motoxracing rider began to make up ground, climbing to eventual sixteenth place. It would have been hard to do more considering the limited laps available.
The second 21-lap race ran in the afternoon. Tamburini made a good start and was lying seventeenth after the first few laps. The Motoxracing rider then began to make progress, moving into thirteenth place mid-race and maintaining a strong pace that allowed him to cross the line eleventh, thus scoring his best result of the season so far, as well as five championship points.
The next round of the Superbike World Championship will take place at the Estoril circuit in Portugal on 20-22 May.
