La Superpole Race e Gara2 hanno concluso il quarto round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike, che si è disputato questo weekend al Misano World Circuit.

Ieri il pilota del Team Motoxracing Roberto Tamburini si era classificato al quattordicesimo posto nella Superpole, mentre in gara1 aveva ottenuto un eccezionale undicesima posizione, bissando così il suo miglior risultato stagionale ottenuto ad Assen in gara2. In questo caso però il valore del risultato è accentuato dal fatto che il pilota di Rimini non è ancora in perfette condizioni fisiche, a causa dell’infortunio che lo aveva costretto a rinunciare al precedente round dell’Estoril (dove era stato sostituito dal tedesco Marvin Fritz), ma davanti al pubblico di casa Roberto è stato più forte del dolore.
Questa mattina, in una giornata calda e soleggiata il pilota del Team Motoxracing è nuovamente sceso in pista per disputare la Superpole race, che si corre sulla distanza di dieci giri. In seguito al risultato ottenuto in Superpole, Roberto è scattato dalla quinta fila. La sua è stata una buona partenza, ma nei pochi giri a disposizione non è riuscito a trovare un passo che gli permettesse di recuperare molte posizioni, ed ha quindi concluso al diciassettesimo posto.
La seconda ed ultima gara ha preso il via nel pomeriggio sulla distanza di 21 giri. Tamburini è partito ancora dalla quinta fila. Grazie ad una partenza molto veloce il pilota del Motoxracing si è portato subito in tredicesima posizione. Nei giri successivi si è alternato tra il dodicesimo ed il quattordicesimo posto, ma da metà gara in poi, confortato anche dall’incitamento del pubblico di casa, Roberto ha resistito agli attacchi dei suoi avversari ed ha tagliato il traguardo al dodicesimo posto. Per lui si tratta di un’altra prestazione molto positiva, soprattutto considerate le sue ancora non ottimali condizioni fisiche.
Nella classifica del campionato Tamburini è quindicesimo con 18 punti, con lo stesso punteggio del quattordicesimo.
Il prossimo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike si disputerà dal 15 al 17 luglio sul circuito di Donington Park in Inghilterra.

Nella Superpole Race ho fatto del mio meglio mentre nella seconda gara della giornata, anche se la caviglia iniziava a darmi molto fastidio, ho stretto i denti ed ho portato a termine una buona gara, e sono soddisfatto del mio dodicesimo posto. Ora abbiamo un mese prima del round di Donington e mi impegnerò per tornare in forma. Correre a Misano, davanti al pubblico di casa è stata una cosa fantastica. Tamburini puts on two strong WorldSBK performances in front of his home crowd at Misano

Today’s Superpole Race and Race 2 bring this fourth round of the Superbike World Championship at the Misano World Circuit to an end. Yesterday, Team Motoxracing rider Roberto Tamburini finished fourteenth in the Superpole, before scoring an exceptional eleventh place finish in race 1, repeating his best result of the season achieved in race 2 at Assen. But in the case the result was more impressive considering that the Italiani s not yet fully fit, with injury having forced him to miss the previous round at Estoril (where he was replaced by German Marvin Fritz). In front of his home crowd, Roberto proved to be stronger than his pain.
This morning, in hot and sunny conditions, the Team Motoxracing rider was back out for the Superpole race, which runs over a distance of ten laps. Roberto once again started from row five, based on yesterday’s Superpole result. He made a good start but was unable to find the kind of pace that would allow him to make up many positions over the short distance race, and he therefore crossed the line in seventeenth place.
The second and final 21-lap race got underway in the afternoon, with Tamburini again on row five of the grid. Having made a very fast start, the Motoxracing rider moved straight up into thirteenth place. Over the subsequent laps, he oscillated between twelfth and fourteenth but from mid-race on, and also spurred on by his home crowd, Roberto fended off attacks from his rivals and crossed the line twelfth. Another very positive result for the rider, particularly considering his less than ideal physical condition.
Tamburini lies fifteenth in the championship standings with 18 points, tied with the rider in fourteenth.
The next Superbike World Championship round will take place on 15-17 July at Donington Park in the UK.
